Flowers Online Delivery: A Florist's Guide to Ordering Well
Flowers online delivery means you choose a bouquet on a website, pay for it online, and a courier brings it to the recipient's door at the time you set. With us you can do this from anywhere in the world for an address in Russia: express delivery in large cities arrives 1-2 hours after the order is confirmed, or you can book an exact time, a time window or a date up to 30 days ahead.
Ordering is the easy part. What separates a bouquet that delights from one that disappoints is a handful of choices a florist makes without thinking: which flowers travel well, what time of day the recipient is actually home, how much detail to give the courier and what to write on the card. This guide walks you through those choices so your order arrives the way you pictured it.
Choosing a bouquet you cannot see in person
When you order online, the photo is your only guide, so read it like a florist. Look at the proportion of flowers to greenery, the size relative to the wrapping, and whether the bouquet is hand-tied, in a box or in a basket. A hand-tied bouquet needs a vase on arrival; a box or basket with a water source can go straight onto a table, which suits older recipients or offices.
Think about who will receive it. Classic red roses say romance in any language, but for a mother or a colleague, mixed seasonal bouquets in soft pink, cream or peach read as warm without being personal. In Russia, an odd number of stems is customary for a gift; even numbers are associated with funerals, so if you are choosing a single-variety bouquet by count, keep it odd.
Yellow flowers are a small trap. Some older Russians still link yellow with parting or infidelity, a superstition younger people mostly ignore. If you are unsure about the recipient's view, choose white, pink or a mix where yellow is an accent rather than the main colour.
Size is worth a thought too. A very large bouquet is impressive, but it needs a big vase and space on a table; for a small flat or a hospital ward, a compact arrangement is often the kinder gift.
Picking the right delivery time
Express delivery is ideal when you have just remembered a birthday or want flowers to arrive while a celebration is under way. In large cities it takes 1-2 hours after the order is confirmed.
For planned occasions, choose an exact time (plus or minus 30 minutes) or one of the windows: 09-12, 12-15, 15-18 or 18-21. Remember that you are booking in Russian local time, which may be several hours ahead of or behind you. A morning window on a birthday gives the person the whole day to enjoy the flowers and show them off.
For anniversaries, 8 March, or any date you know well in advance, pre-order 1 to 30 days ahead. It removes the risk of forgetting and lets you agree every detail calmly rather than in a rush on the day.
Bouquets we can deliver
Giving an address that works on the first try
Russian addresses have more moving parts than many people abroad expect. Alongside the street and building number, include the entrance (podyezd) number, the floor, the flat number and the intercom code if there is one. For a large residential complex, add the building letter or block.
Always give the recipient's phone number. The courier calls about 15 minutes before arrival, which lets the person come to the door or open the entrance. If they turn out to be away, we arrange a second delivery the same day or, with your consent, hand the bouquet to a neighbour or concierge rather than leave it unattended.
For offices, add the company name and floor, and check whether visitors need a pass. Deliveries to business centres go much more smoothly when reception expects them.
Writing the card and keeping it anonymous
Delivery is anonymous by default: the courier does not name the sender. That makes online flowers a good choice for a secret admirer, but it can confuse a relative who receives a bouquet with no explanation. If you want them to know it is from you, say so on the card.
The card is free and carries whatever text you give us. Short works best: two or three lines, written as you would say them. If the recipient reads Russian more comfortably than English, it is a kind touch to send the text in Russian; a friend or our manager can help you check it.
Avoid inside jokes that only make sense with context, and sign with the name the recipient uses for you, whether that is a nickname or a formal first name and patronymic for an older relative or colleague.
Paying and confirming your order
You pay online on the site by bank card, SBP or Yandex Pay. City delivery costs 500 RUB; for remote districts and suburbs, the operator confirms the price when confirming the order, so you know the full cost before the bouquet goes out.
If anything is unusual, such as a hard-to-find address, a surprise that needs coordinating with a family member, or a card in a particular language, message a manager on WhatsApp. They can help you choose a bouquet, agree the time, address and card text, and send you a photo of the bouquet before delivery.
That photo is the most reassuring part of ordering from far away. You see exactly what the recipient will hold in their hands, rather than wondering how closely it matches the picture on the site.
Helping the bouquet last after it arrives
Online delivery does not end at the door. If you can, pass these tips on to the recipient, or tuck a short version into the card. Recut every stem by 2-3 cm at an angle with a sharp knife, remove leaves below the waterline, and use a clean vase with cool water.
Keep the flowers away from radiators, direct sun and the fruit bowl: ripening fruit releases ethylene, which ages flowers quickly. Change the water every two days and trim the stems again each time. Roses, chrysanthemums and alstroemeria treated this way often last well beyond a week.
Boxed and basket arrangements with floral foam need only a top-up: pour water gently onto the foam every day or two so it never dries out. Never lift flowers out of foam; they cannot be pushed back in.
Where we deliver
Sending flowers to a city you have never visited is easier than it looks. The order process is the same whether the recipient lives in central Moscow or a town of thirty thousand people: you choose the bouquet, the slot and the card, pay online, and the courier phones the recipient before arriving.
We deliver flowers across Russia, from the largest cities to small towns. Browse the bouquets catalogue, and read our delivery and payment page for the full terms. If you are sending to a smaller town, our guides such as flower delivery in Elektrostal explain what to expect there.
The main difference outside big cities is timing. Express delivery in 1-2 hours applies to large cities, so for a smaller town it is wiser to choose a time window or pre-order for the date. Our operator confirms the delivery price for remote districts and suburbs when confirming the order, so there are no surprises.
